Wishing everyone a Happy New Year 2022! And here’s hoping for more posts on my website this year!

I haven’t been posting much on this blog lately, but thought I would just wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Stay tuned for some newer posts , hopefully before the end of the year.
So, the past week has been very busy for me. Mostly work related things that required my actual, physical presence at work. After roughly a year working from home, one can appreciate that this can be pretty physically tiring and even a bit daunting. I’m not alone, many of my coworkers seem to think the same.

However, what that meant is that I have neglected my blog for roughly a week or two (Not that anyone’s reading.. haha). I was just not in a mood to write anything and was feeling pretty drained. To be in a state to write, the creative juices must flow, and for that to happen, one must be calm, relaxed and in a creative mood, which I wasn’t last week.
Anyway, here’s hoping this week will be better and that I can do a food review that I’ve been meaning to do for a while. While this is certainly not a food blog, remember, it is the blog about nothing! So anything goes!
The past few days has been all about perfecting the look and feel of the blog. While the aesthetics of it all may not be perfect yet, I’ve changed the original theme to something that I like a lot more. With this out of the way, I can get on with actually writing, which is why I made this blog in the first place… but write about what though!?
You see, when making the blog I wondered what I would actually write about. One of my many interests perhaps? Ideas? Something informative? But none of this really made much sense to me. I’m a jack of many trades, but a master of none.
This is where I draw inspiration from my favourite sitcom of all time, Seinfeld! Yes, Seinfeld, everybody’s favourite “show about nothing”! So, this blog will be the “blog about nothing”! Where any topic no matter how mundane, minuscule and downright absurd will be written about, debated and analysed down to the most microscopic detail. There maybe a few interesting things in here too…. so don’t discount me just yet.
Well, now that you know what this blog is about (nothing), hit that subscribe button and let the good times roll! Let me end the post with this hilarious video clip.
Serenity Now!
First post…. feeling a bit jittery….. and then I ask myself, “why!?”. You see, back in the good old days when I was a teenage high schooler, I used to operate my own website. This was a pretty “cool” thing to do back in the day and not many people knew how to (or cared enough to) make their own website. The website was mostly about me, myself & I, coz ….why not, right?
Then came along hi5, MySpace and finally, Facebook, and suddenly everyone, kinda, sorta, had their own webpage. Not only that, it cost nothing, had no hosting limits and allowed you to connect with others more in-depth, something that most websites at the time didn’t do very well.

After some time, my website, which I hosted on Geocities became irrelevant, and in 2009 got taken down along with the rest of the Geocities sites when the service closed down. So, social media ruled the day and that was that….. or was it?
Social media in 2021 has lost its shine. Far from being a medium to simply communicate, it’s now being used to shape opinions, win elections and harvest personal information for profit. All moral values, any iota of decency has been abandoned in exchange for the promise of money and power…. Ugh!
So, I am leaving behind the mangled, tangled mess that is social media, never to return, and retreating to the calm and quiet of my own website, for the 2nd time in the same lifetime. As with the website from my teenage years, I am quite certain that no one will visit this site, and no one would be interested in my rambling opinions about this, that or the other. And that brings me back to where I started, why feel jittery, when no one’s reading anyway…. ha!
